Birdwalk Farm Owner Help  - Cockapoo or Labradoodle?

Labradoodles are very similar to the cockapoo in many ways.  Both breeds are people oriented and great companions. Both are water loving, playful and fun to be with for kids as well as adults. The cockapoo, obviously, is available in a smaller size and the labradoodle in larger sizes.  Our cockapoos (on average) range from 6 – 45 lbs with the labradoodles averaging 20-50 lbs. Cockapoos allow more selection of colors due to their background having more variety.

Coat types are more stable in the cockapoo as no-shed puppies are the norm, while doodles (at least in first generation) are much more likely to shed than not.  Further generations on doodles and those bred back to a poodle (f1b, or other generation bred back - we like the f3b combo also ) are less likely to shed, and in fact have coats types that are almost identical to the cockapoo. Again we can identify these pups before they leave so you can make your decision.
